RESULT Burridge lost by 87 runs Burridge 8 points
Peartree 22 points
Peartree were the clear league leaders and it would take a great team performance to turn them over. They had some key players and the challenge was set when they were put into bat. Full of confidence the captain promised it was the right decision and that would not be chasing 250 after tea. Who elected the captain? I Agha added another hundred to his season tally and when the 2nd wicket did not fall until the score was 188, the writing was on the wall. Burridge had a good number of youngsters who bowled well and showed good spirit. Burridge made a steady start but could not match the scoring rate of Peartree. It was going to be a day of personal performances. John scored steadily but fell just short of his 50. Pete was finding his own pace and looked in total control. He appeared focused and somehow inspired. While other wickets fell around him, Pete carried his bat finishing 52 not out. The result was quite inevitable but it was a very encouraging performance and surprisingly enjoyable despite the loss
